Foster Wheeler Ltd awarded project management consultancy contract by Hyundai Oilbank for a $200m clean fuels upgrade project at the Hyundai Oilbank Refinery at Daesan, Korea. Contractors Unlimited has not been advised of the contract value.


Technip Awarded Contract For Hydrogen Plant30/07/2004
Technip USA Corp awarded a 110 million standard cubic foot per day hydrogen plant by Air Products and Chemicals, Inc to be located at Convent, Louisiana. Technip's scope covers design, engineering and procurement for the plant.


EPC Contract Win for Sixth LNG Train in Nigeria03/08/2004
Nigeria LNG Limited awarded EPC contract for the NLNGSix project at its existing liquefied natural gas facility to a joint venture team, which includes KBR. The partners of the equal joint venture team, known as TSKJ, include Technip, Snamprogetti, KBR and JGC Corporation. This is the fourth project that TSKJ has contracted with NLNG.


AMEC to provide engineering services for Pogo Gold Mine05/08/2004
AMEC awarded contract to proceed with engineering, procurement and construction management services for the USD280m Pogo Gold Mine Project in Alaska for clients Teck Cominco and Sumitomo.


Aker Kvaerner Chemetics Wins Contract For Acid Plant06/08/2004
Chemetics divison of Aker Kvaerner Canada awarded contract by JSC Kazakhmys Corporation to build a sulphuric acid plant in Balkhash Kazakhstan. The project will be managed from Chemetics' office in Vancouver, Canada, where it will also carry out the majority of the engineering.


Aker Kvaerner Contract for Acid Plant in Southern Peru06/08/2004
The Chemetics divison of Aker Kvaerner Canada and Kvaerner Peru SA awarded contracts by Southern Peru Copper Corporation to build the second sulphuric acid plant and effluent treatment plant at its copper smelter in Ilo Peru. The project will be managed from Chemetics' office in Vancouver, Canada, where it will also carry out the majority of the engineering.


CB&I Follow-on Award for Sakhalin II LNG Project10/08/2004
CB&I awarded lump-sum contract valued in excess of US$50m for an additional LNG storage tank at the natural gas liquefaction plant and export terminal under construction at Prigorodnoye on Aniva Bay, Sakhalin Island, Russia. CB&I was previously awarded a contract for two LNG storage tanks, two LNG spheres and related civil works at the site.


Fluor Wins Gas Project in Norway11/08/2004
Fluor awarded Export Capacity Upgrading Project at the Kollsnes Gas Terminal by Statoil A/S. Project will be led from Fluor's Haarlem office in the Netherlands and executed with Norwegian partner, Reinertsen A/S, which will provide EPC services for civil, steel and piping work.

Fluor Contract Win At Australian Mining & Refining Operation16/08/2004
Fluor contracted to provide maintenance services at Olympic Dam Operations with its joint venture partners Monadelphous Engineering Associates and Broadspectrum Australia. The three-year contract includes a three-year extension option.


Technip Award by Agip Oil in Libya17/08/2004
Technip awarded contract worth approximately €50m by Agip Oil Company Ltd Libyan Branch for the Bouri East Area Development. The EAD Project will consist of four new sub sea production wells, clustered around a central manifold and tied-back to the DP4 Platform.


Aker Kvaerner Awarded Expansion Project With Teijin Twaron17/08/2004

Wood Group Power Operations, part of the Gas Turbine Services Division of John Wood Group, has been awarded a ten-year, $15.7m power plant services contract with Equus Power I, at the customer's simple-cycle peaking power station on Long Island, New York.

Aker Establishes EPCm Contract with BP in Germany25/08/2004
Aker Kvaerner Netherlands B.V., to perform EPCm Services for major BP petrochemical and refining sites in Germany. This is to include small and medium size projects at BP sites in Gelsenkirchen, Koln, and Marl in Germany with an option for Lingen.


Wood Group-owned Deepwater Specialists Wins First Contract30/08/2004
Deepwater Specialists Inc, a subsidiary of John Wood Group, contracted by Amec to provide commissioning services for Shell's Bonga FPSO vessel, offshore Nigeria. DSI will support Amec in the contract worth approximately US$4m.


Foster Wheeler Awarded Contract for 400 MW Power Plant01/09/2004
Foster Wheeler Italiana S.p.A. awarded lump-sum turnkey EPC contract by SET S.r.l. for a 400 MW grassroots combined-cycle plant to be built at Teverola, Italy. Foster Wheeler Italiana's Equipment Division will design and supply the HRSG.


AMEC To Design First Commercial Scale Biodiesel Plant04/09/2004
AMEC awarded $1.9m contract to design a $24m alternative fuel production plant for Biox Corporation in Hamilton, Ontario. AMEC to provide engineering services, procurement assistance and geotechnical services.


TransCanada and Petro-Canada Jointly Pursue LNG Facility04/09/2004
TransCanada Corporation and Petro-Canada sign memorandum of understanding to develop LNG facility, named Cacouna Energy, in Gros Cacouna, Quebec. 500-1000 people to be employed during the construction phase and 30-50 long-term positions to operate the facility.


Hydro To Award Another Ormen Lange Contract to Aker Kvaerner05/09/2004
Hydro intend to give Aker Kvaerner the main installation contract for the new Ormen Lange onshore plant on the north west coast of Norway. Workscope means 3,000 man-labour years. Top manning to execute this contract is expected to be 2,200 persons in 2006.

Hydro and Statkraft to Build Gas Fired Power Plant at Karsto23/09/2004
Statkraft SF and Norsk Hydro ASA to proceed with plans to build gas fired power plant at Karsto. Some 500 to 600 persons will be involved in the construction phase. Once operative, the plant will employ around 30 people.


Petronas Embarking on Mega Methanol Project23/09/2004
Petronas embarking on development of new world scale methanol plant adjacent to its existing methanol plant in Labuan. The new plant will utilise Lurgi's Mega Methanol technology and is scheduled to commence operations by the end of 2007.

ICA Fluor and Empresas ICA Sociedad Controladora signed US$134m contract for engineering, procurement, construction and contraction and start-up support services for modular cryogenic plant and fuel terminal for Pemex Gas y Petroquimica Basica.


Valero Energy Awards Clean Fuels Contract to CB&I28/09/2004
Valero Energy award EPC contract to CB&I Matrix valued between US$40-$60m to design, build and install a 35,000 BPD gasoline desulfurization unit at Valero's 170,000 BPD McKee refinery in Sunray, Texas.


Technip Awarded Several Ethanol and Biodiesel Contracts28/09/2004
