Foster Wheeler Awarded PMC Contract by Petronas

Foster Wheeler Malaysia and its partner, OGP Technical Services have been awarded a project management consultancy contract by Petronas Penapisan for the addition of a lube base oil plant at the Petronas Penapisan refinery at Melaka, Malaysia.

This project will include a new plant and supporting facilities to produce various grades of lubricant oil. It will be integrated within the existing facilities and also includes modifications to the offsites and utility systems.

Under the scope of the contract, the PMC partners will undertake the basic engineering design, develop cost estimates and prepare EPC bid packages. Following selection of the EPC contractor, the PMC partners will be responsible for the management of the activities of the EPC contractor through start-up of the new facilities.

Foster Wheeler was the PMC for the major PSR-2 expansion just over 10 years ago. Foster Wheeler, with its partner, OGP, is also the PMC for the current cogeneration project for PP(M)SB.
