AMEC Clough JV Win Offshore Oil & Gas Contract in the Timor Sea

AMEC logoAMEC has teamed up with Clough, a large Australian multidisciplinary contractor to win a multi-million dollar contract from ConocoPhillips to provide operations and maintenance services for the Bayu-Undan development, South East Asia.

Over the next three years, with an option to extend a further two years, the AMEC Clough joint venture will service the production facilities at the Bayu-Undan gas and condensate field, located in the Timor Sea. The field is estimated to hold over 400 million barrels of hydrocarbon liquids and 3.4 trillion cubic feet of gas.

The facilities comprise a 14,000 tonne drilling, production and processing platform, a 11,500 tonne compression, utilities and quarters platform, a 1,400 tonne wellhead platform and a floating storage and offloading vessel.

Clough commented that a multi-national workforce is being engaged from within South East Asia with management support from Perth, Darwin and Dili, Timor-Leste for the contract.

The Bayu-Undan field is located in the Joint Petroleum Development Area and is administered by the Timor Sea Designated Authority comprising representatives appointed by both the Australian and Republica Democratica de Timor-Leste governments.

Clough through the joint venture of its fully owned Oil and Gas Division and majority owned Indonesian company, PT Petrosea, recently announced the award of the EPC contract by operator BP West Java for the APN Field Development located in the West Java Sea, in Indonesia.
