Vapour from a spill oil tank in one of the shafts on Statoil's Gullfaks A platform in the North Sea activated a gas detector on Friday. This in turn initiated a gas leak alert, and the crew of 180 were sent to the lifeboats.  |

| BP Announces New Identity for Petrochemicals Company | 22/03/2005 |
BP announces name of new olefins and derivatives subsidiary will be Innovene. Innovene will be formed as a separate entity within the BP Group in April. Headquartered in Chicago, the company will have more than 8,500 employees at 26 principal sites around the world.  |

| Huge Explosion at BP Refinery in Houston | 24/03/2005 |
A huge explosion at BP's oil refinery in Texas has killed at least 14 and injured more than 70. Don Parus, BP's Texas City, refinery manager confirmed there have been fatalities from an explosion that occurred on Wednesday at around 1:20 p.m. (1920 GMT) at the company's isomerization unit at the facility.  |

Jacobs confirm loss of 11 employees and injuries to a number of others in the explosion that occurred at the BP refinery in Texas City. About 375 employees of Jacobs and its JE Merit Constructors subsidiary were involved in turnaround work at a separate unit close to the isomerization unit where the explosion occurred.  |

Fluor Corporation confirms three of its employees died Wednesday in an explosion and fire at the BP refinery in Texas City. All three men were attending a meeting near the part of the facility involved in the incident under a contract Fluor has with BP to assist with maintenance activities at the refining and chemicals site.  |

BG Group announce outstanding conditions relating to sale of its entire 16.67 per cent interest in the North Caspian Production Sharing Agreement have been satisfied. At completion, BG Group will receive an aggregate pre-tax cash consideration of approximately $US1.8 billion.  |
