Statoil opens office in the Texan oil city of Houston to follow up opportunities in the Gulf of Mexico region. According to Bjørn Mortensen, project manager for establishing this facility, roughly 35 people are set to be in place there during 2005.  |

| Eni Gets Green light for TAG Pipeline Expansion | 21/06/2005 |
The Trans Austria Gasleitung (TAG) pipeline which transports Russian gas to Italy through Austria is to be expanded. Investment for the expansion of the TAG pipeline amounts to 130m and works will be carried out by TAG GmbH, a company jointly owned by Eni and the Austrian company OMV.  |

| Centrica and Gaz de France to Acquire Belgian Energy Company | 29/06/2005 |
Centrica plc through a 50/50 JV with Gaz de France SA conditionally agrees to acquire a controlling 51 per cent stake in SPE SA. SPE is the second largest power generation company in Belgium with around 1.6 GW of principally gas-fired production capacity and around 400 MW of capacity.  |

Hydro signs agreement to buy a 50 percent stake of Scira, a UK-based wind power group established to develop wind power in the UK. Scira has rights to build a 315 megawatt offshore wind power farm off the coast of Norfolk in England.  |

Nexen Inc. to close its sodium chlorate plant, effective July 31, 2005, located in Amherstburg, Ontario. The plant, with a capacity of 54,000 annual metric tonnes, has been running at reduced operating levels for several months as a result of high electricity costs.  |

Statoil resolves to accept penalty of NOK 1.5 million imposed by the chief of police for Hordaland county following a fire at the group's Mongstad refinery on 12 July 2004. Direct cause of fire was an escape of hot oil into a steam hose during preparations for replacing a valve.  |

Stockholders of Unocal Corporation approve merger agreement between Unocal and Chevron Corporation at Unocal's special meeting of stockholders. The combined company will be the fourth largest publicly traded energy company in the world in terms of oil and gas production.  |
