Oil and Gas Services:
In oil and gas AMEC has developed a strong position in frontier regions including the Caspian, China, the CIS, the Middle East, South East Asia and West Africa. In these regions AMEC work with local companies and take the initiative in transferring technology and skills to the local workforce to deliver long-term benefits to the local economy.
AMEC are an international asset support provider, servicing more than 200 facilities daily. As well as being the market leader in UK North Sea brownfield services, we are now providing 'duty holder' production operations services in the North Sea.
AMEC are also the market leader in project management, engineering services and the provision of infrastructure to the upstream surface mining oil sands sector. From helping to build the world's first oil sands plant in 1967 to the world's largest plant in 1978, AMEC's operations have matured along with the industry, with participation in twelve out of fifteen (surface mining) oil sand developments.
For the mining industry AMEC provide mining consultancy, design and project management services to customers producing commodities including gold, diamonds, base metals, potash and uranium. The business has a strong track record in the execution of large and complex projects and is a recognised leader in northern and Arctic environments where projects have significant logistical challenges associated with remote location and difficult access.
