Cape Awarded Access Services Contract by Amec-Tekfen-Azfen Alliance

Cape is delighted to announce that its newly formed "SOCAR CAPE" Joint Venture has been awarded a contract by Amec-Tekfen-Azfen (ATA) Alliance to deliver access services for the fabrication of West Chirag Platform topsides in Azerbaijan.
The West Chirag Platform, which consists of a steel jacket in water depth of 170 metres and a single integrated deck, forms part of the next phase of the Azeri Chirag Gunashli (ACG) Field Development in the Azerbaijan Sector of the Caspian Sea.
The Joint Venture agreement with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) was signed on 30 June 2010. The "SOCAR CAPE" JV, is owned 51% by SOCAR and 49% by Cape.
Cape plc, which is listed on AIM (CIU), provides a range of non-mechanical industrial services including access systems, insulation, painting, coatings, blasting, industrial cleaning, training and assessment to both industrial plant operators and major international engineering and construction companies. Cape employs c.17,000 people in 28 countries with its four main markets being the UK, Gulf/Middle East, CIS, Mediterranean and North Africa, and the Far East/ Pacific Rim. In the year ended 31 December 2009, Cape reported turnover of £655.1 million.
