AMEC Awarded Clean Air Project by
Southern Company

AMEC AMEC has been awarded a contract by Southern Company's Alabama Power for the assembly and installation of essential emissions enhancements equipment at Plant Gaston, a coal-fueled power plant located along the Coosa River in Wilsonville, Alabama.

The value of the project has not been announced.

This is the second major clean-air project awarded to AMEC in recent months. Work is scheduled to begin later this year and is expected to be completed by the end of 2009.

Alabama Power is the second largest subsidiary of Southern Company, one of the nation's largest producers of electricity, and serves 1.4 million homes, businesses and industries in the southern two-thirds of Alabama.
