AMEC has announced that its Australian-based
joint venture, Clough AMEC, has been awarded
a contract by Chevron Australia Pty Ltd to provide engineering services for their oil production facilities at Barrow Island and Thevenard Island. The facilities are located offshore Western Australia, about 990 miles (1,600 km) north of Perth.
The value of the contract has not been announced.
The scope of work for this contract is diverse and will be executed in a remote environment. It covers multi-discipline professional engineering studies, design and support services, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of onshore and offshore hydrocarbon extraction and processing facilities and associated pipelines.
"This project is our first with Chevron Australia and is a strategic win for us. Being awarded this project is in line with our aspirations to be a preferred contractor." said Richard Bailey, Regional Director of South East Asia for AMEC's Natural Resources business.
