Centrica Contract Award for PSN with New Humber Office

PSN has been awarded a 3 year contract by Centrica Storage Ltd as one of their providers of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation design services at the Rough gas storage facility and Easington terminal.

The Rough gas storage facility is the largest storage facility in the UK and is situated in the Southern North Sea, approximately 18 miles off the east coast of Yorkshire, together with an onshore gas processing terminal at Easington, approximately 27 miles south east of Hull. Peter Brown, PSN UK Operations Director, said: "Over the past thirty years, PSN has successfully delivered a diverse range of contracts for Centrica companies but this is the first Centrica award for our Humberside team.

"This award strengthens our UK portfolio and presents a golden opportunity to establish a new PSN office in the Humber area. PSN will work hard with the local business community to provide a service, not only to the region's gas operators, but also to other petrochemical and related industries on the banks of the Humber.

"PSN has an established model in our Runcorn office which provides a service to the Irish Sea oil and gas operators and the North West petrochemical industries." Established 3 years ago Runcorn has grown to a current workforce of around 100. "We intend to repeat this success story in the Humber area and reverse the traditional trend of exporting work. PSN's vision is built on a network of regional offices, from Melbourne to Calgary, delivering global work, using local expertise."

CSL operates the Rough gas storage facility in the Southern North Sea and the Easington onshore gas processing terminal in East Yorkshire. Rough is a partially depleted gas field, converted to a storage facility, approximately 18 miles off the east coast of Yorkshire. It is currently the largest gas storage facility in the UK, able to meet approximately 10% of the UK's current peak day demand. Centrica Storage Ltd acts on behalf of a range of customers, which include other Centrica companies.
