AMEC And INEOS Chlor Sign BiChlor Agreement
“This is an exciting step for AMEC in China and for the partnership between INEOS Chlor and AMEC in developing opportunities for the BiChlor technology in this vast industrial market,” said Roy Swift, Director of AMEC's Shanghai-based operations. Sichuan Shengda Chemicals has chosen BiChlor ™ because it combines state-of-the-art technology with low power consumption, long component lifetime, improved production quality and enhanced safety. The latest membranes, coatings and materials of construction will be used and the BiChlor ™ plant will be provided with a total service package, which includes on-site training and commissioning. Demand in China for chlor-alkali products, used in the manufacture of PVC and other industrial processes, is growing at approximately 6% per year and is currently outstripping supply. The INEOS Chlor - AMEC partnership was set up earlier this year to provide BiChlor™ technology and related design services for chlor-alkali plants. AMEC, in partnership with INEOS Chlor, has won a contract in China to provide BiChlor ™ membrane electrolysers to Sichuan Shengda Chemical Ltd for its plant in Leshan, Sichuan Province. The contract value is confidential.
