Aker Kvaerner Subsea Systems Contract For Fram Øst Project
Norsk Hydro has awarded Aker Kvaerner a contract for subsea systems to the Fram Øst project in the North Sea. This is a tie-back project to the Troll C platform and the contract value is NOK 360 million.
Aker Kvaerner's subsea company, Kvaerner Oilfield Products (KOP), will deliver engineering, procurement and construction of two four-slot templates for a total of seven wells including wellhead systems and Xmas trees as well as control systems. Design, fabrication and testing will be carried out by KOP's project team in Lysaker, Tranby and Egersund in Norway and Aberdeen in UK, through 2005 and 2006.
Fram Øst is located approximately 20 kilometres north of the Troll field at a sea depth of 360 meters. It will be a subsea installation with five oil producers and two wells for water injection tied up to the Troll C platform. Production start up is planned for October 2006.
