Technip Awarded Installation of Swordfish Pipelines
Technip has been awarded an installation contract by Mariner Energy, Inc., for rigid oil and gas pipelines connecting the Swordfish field to the Neptune spar production platform. The Swordfish field and the Neptune spar are located in the Gulf of Mexico, approximately 14 miles apart in respectively blocks VK 917, VK 961, and VK 962 in 4,370 to 4,677 ft water depth and block VK 826 in 1,930 ft water depth.
The contract will be carried out by Technip's engineering center in Houston, USA. The Group's vessel, Deep Blue, using the reel lay method, will install the oil pipe-in-pipe pipeline (6"x10") and the gas pipeline (6"). The rigid lines, each approximately 14 miles long, will be assembled at Technip's spool base in Mobile Alabama.
Technip will also provide hydrostatic testing of the completed pipelines to be installed in March 2005 as part of the contract.
