Petrobras Oceanographic Award for Subsea 7
The services provided by Subsea 7 will supply Petrobras with the knowledge of the coastal dynamics at the specified sites for future maritime installation projects. The project will take place within ten shore sites, in water depths to 40 metres, situated between the Brazilian northeast and south coastal regions; five of those sites will have wave and current measurements taken. Monthly site visits are scheduled for equipment maintenance, oceanographic data retrieval and shore profiling. The job will employ boats hired locally in Brazil. Subsea 7's Integrated Remote Technology group has recently won a contract from Petrobras for the provision of oceanographic services along ten pre-determined Brazilian coastal sites. The award is placed in the region of US$2.5m and began on 1st October 2004 for 550 days with a possible extension of an equal period.
