Technip Awarded Contract by Marathon For Alvheim Field
Technip Offshore Norge AS, based in Oslo, Norway will perform the contract's project management and engineering. The flowlines will be fabricated at the Group's welding base either in Evanton, UK or Orkanger, Norway. The flexible risers and umbilicals will be manufactured at Technip's facilities in Le Trait, France and in Newcastle, UK respectively. Several vessels from Technip's fleet will undertake the offshore operations: the Apache for the pipe lay, the Deep Pioneer for structures installation and the Wellservicer for spools installations and tie-ins. Technip has been awarded an EPCI contract by Marathon worth approximately €130m, for the installation of the sub sea system for the Alvheim field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The contract includes design and supply of all line pipes, flexible pipes, umbilicals, riser bases and manifolds. The installation work is scheduled to take place during summer 2006.
