Fluor Win ENAGAS Contract in Spain
Fluor has won a contract from ENAGAS to provide construction management services for the expansion of a liquefied natural gas regasification plant in Huelva, Spain.
The project aims to increase the vaporization capacity of the existing maritime LNG import terminal from 975,000 to 1.35 million normal cubic meters per hour, adding a new LNG tank and related equipment. Off-site and auxiliary facilities also will be revamped in order to meet new requirements.
The project, scheduled for completion in mid-2006, will be executed out of Fluor's offices in Madrid and Asturias, Spain.
The plant expansion is part of ENAGAS' effort to meet the needs of the country's recently liberalized gas market and growing energy consumption. With its increased capacity, the facility will add additional volumes of gas to the national network. The gas will be imported from suppliers in North Africa, the Middle East and Central America.
