J P Kenny Wins Contracts In UKCS and Spain
The current detailed design engineering contract with Talisman began in September and follows initial design verification work on Tweedsmuir, completed in August. J P Kenny has also been selected by Enagas, as the detailed design contractor for the proposed pipeline system from mainland Spain to the Balearic Islands, in a contract worth initially €2m. Work has begun on the proposed pipelines and follows J P Kenny's original contract for preliminary engineering completed last year. Totalling around 270km in length, the pipelines will run in water depths of up to 1,000 metres, supplying gas to the islands of Ibiza and Mallorca to provide new power generation to meet growing customer demand. The project has been approved by the Spanish Government as part of their overall Energy Plan and should be completed in 2006. J P Kenny, part of the Wood Group, has recently been awarded a £1m design engineering contract for Talisman's new Tweedsmuir field in the UKCS, situated in Block 21/1a of the Central North Sea on the UKCS.
