Petrofac Awarded 5 Year Contract ExtensionPetrofac Facilities Management has been awarded a 5-year extension of its current contract with Britannia Operator Limited (BOL) for operations services on the Britannia platform. Under the terms of the contract, which is an extension of the original 7-year contract and worth in excess of £40 million, Petrofac will continue to provide offshore operations, maintenance and onshore support personnel to Britannia. The Britannia field, situated 210km north-east of Aberdeen, produces gas, condensate and oil and is operated by ConocoPhillips and ChevronTexaco under a stand alone entity, Britannia Operator Limited. The Britannia field is one of the largest known remaining gas fields in the U.K. When production first began in 1998, the field had estimated gas reserves of 3 trillion cubic feet.
