Expro International Group Win Bourbon Opale Contract
Expro International Group has won a contract to provide the process topsides for the Bourbon Opale FPSO facility currently being built in Norway.
The FPSO, owned by Bourbon Offshore Norway AS, a subsidiary of the French company Groupe Bourbon, has been designed to process a wide range of crude oil, from 14 to 40º on the API scale, and associated gas. The topsides package includes a solids exclusion system, crude stabilisation train, programmable logic controller (PLC) based control and shutdown system and a fiscal metering package. Capacity will be up to 10,000 bopd, 5,000 bwpd and 26 MMscfd of gas.
Engineering and fabrication of the new equipment is underway and due for completion in April 2004. The process facility will then be installed on the vessel in the UK and operations are due to commence in the Gulf of Mexico in early May 2004. Once there, the Bourbon Opale will replace an existing vessel operating for Pemex.
