Altra Energy Secure Contracts in Algeria and Kazakhstan
Altra Energy has won two contracts worth £400,000 in Algeria and Kazakhstan.
The Aberdeen based company has agreed a deal with SonaHess to provide process engineering services for the phase 2 Miscible Gas Flood Project expected to run to 2006. The project will enhance oil recovery from several producing oil fields near Hassi Messaoud, central Algeria. This work follows successful completion of a large contract that provided specialist Safety and Operational Process support to the Phase 1 Project.
Altra will also provide assistance with performance trials on the KPC gas plant, owned by the Karachaganak Petroleum Operator (KPO) consortium in Northern Kazakhstan. This is the latest work on the Kazakhstan plant by Altra and follows the completion of a larger similar contract which finished late last year.
The SonaHess contract marks Altra Energy's first major venture into Algeria which the company commented will play a significant part in their business plans for the future. By contrast, Altra is already established in Kazakhstan with the successful completion of several projects.
