BP Extends Workscope With Wood Group

BP has given the go ahead for the Wood Group to undertake additional engineering, procurement and construction services on BP's Lomond platform. The extended workscope for the Lomond asset, located in BP's Central Graben development in the UK sector of the Central North Sea, is scheduled for completion in May 2005.

The work comprises the Lomond Mid Life Compression Project, which is designed to extend the life of the Lomond reservoir by lowering the minimum pressure at which gas can be produced.

Wood Group Engineering won the contract following successful completion of the front-end engineering in August 2003, and the initiation of early detailed design and long-lead procurement services.
