AMEC win BP Contract in Azerbaijan

AMEC logoAMEC has won a four-year contract from BP Exploration (Caspian Sea) for engineering and modification services in Azerbaijan.

AMEC will provide initial support services to the Chirag-1 Production Platform in the Caspian Sea, 120km south east of Baku, followed by a further five offshore installations as they become operational. The contract will include engineering of capital expenditure (CAPEX) modifications to offshore operational facilities and their management and implementation.

AMEC has provided asset support to BP in Azerbaijan since 1997, most recently for the Chirag Early Oil Facility, which has led to this latest success for the company. An important aspect of this work is sustainability, including training of local people to develop and maintain a business that is both viable and valuable for the region.
