Mott MacDonald - part of the mbc alliance - wins Scottish Water consultant framework contract

A joint venture alliance comprising Mott MacDonald, Babtie Group and Carl Bro (mbc) has been awarded a major framework contract by Scottish Water Solutions (SWS) to act as national consultant partner for Scottish Water's capital programme.

The alliance will deliver design resources across the full range of disciplines including civil, structural, electrical and mechanical engineering in addition to environmental and planning skills and will operate as part of integrated design teams alongside SWS's own staff.

mbc will undertake work in a wide range of areas including water quality improvement, sewerage, waste water treatment, water treatment and distribution.

The consortium will provide design resources and expertise to SWS, a subsidiary company of Scottish Water, which is charged with delivering 70% of the £1.8 billion Quality and Standards II Programme by 2006.

mbc's role is to provide design support throughout Scotland from bases in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness on a variety of projects to upgrade Scotland's water and wastewater networks, provide better quality drinking water and help clean up the country's coastal waters and rivers.
