ChevronTexaco Award Thailand Contract to KBR

Chevron Offshore (Thailand) Ltd has awarded KBR Production Services a substantial contract for work associated with the Benchamas Production Platform (BPP) Main Shutdown scheduled for January 2004. The project started on September 9th and it is expected that KBR will be demobilised by the end of May, 2004.

KBR is responsible for the scope of work associated with procurement, fabrication and offshore installation of the main pre-shutdown, shutdown and post-shutdown activities, and associated electrical and instrumentation works necessary to achieve a reliable upgrade to the fluid throughput capacity of the BPP platform in the Gulf of Thailand. The project consists of installing new and replacement equipment, as well as well as upgrading and modifying existing units, to increase oil throughput to 60,000bpd and achieve contract specifications for the gas train (exporting at 180mmscfd). Included within the equipment that KBR will install is a new coalescer module and replacement flare boom, flare tip and ignition system.

Award of this contract represents the first major KBR Operations & Maintenance activity in Thailand for a number of years.
