Genesis Oil & Gas Consultants Awarded Shell Contract
Shell EP Projects division has awarded a significant Engineering Services support contract to Genesis Oil & Gas Consultants. The contract scope covers the provision of all categories of engineering and design staff and associated project support services, with personnel working in-house within EP Projects premises alongside Shell staff. The team will be based in Seafield House Aberdeen and will be working on the design and development of engineering projects undertaken by EP Projects on behalf of Shell Operating Units around the world.
The contract is expected to run for up to five years and is structured to cater with peaks and troughs in the demand for engineering projects within the Shell Group. The award follows an extensive competitive tendering process carried out by Shell International Exploration & Production B.V., linked to the provision of engineering support on a global basis. This exclusive local agreement for Aberdeen is expected to form the first of a series of similar arrangements that will be put in place to support operations at other EP Projects global locations.
The build-up of personnel is expected to be gradual, but initially some forty to fifty personnel will be provided by Genesis to support the start-up workload, working on two onshore projects on behalf of Shell Operating Units outside Europe. Thereafter it is hoped that the Aberdeen office will grow into an established team of over 120 persons as additional project work for other Operating Unit clients is undertaken.
