BOC to build major gas production facility in Worsley

BOC Medical has announced plans to build a major gas production facility near Manchester. The multi-million pound facility will be built in Worsley and will produce oxygen, nitrous oxide, Entonox(tm) and other essential medical gases in line with strict new European pharmacopoeia standards.

The technology to be used to produce the gases at the facility was developed by BOC in the United States for the manufacture of high quality special gas mixtures for laboratory use. At the new plant gas cylinders, some of which will be constructed from carbon fibre composite materials, will be filled individually using computerised weighing scales to ensure accuracy and safety.
