Wood Group wins 5-year TotalFinaElf contractAberdeen-based Wood Group Engineering (North Sea) Ltd has been awarded a 5-year, £multi-million contract by TotalFinaElf Exploration UK PLC for the provision of engineering, procurement, construction and ancillary services for all its Northern North Sea and Central Graben facilities. Contractors Unlimited has not been advised of the contract value but the work has been reported to be worth more than £10million a year. This contract replaces a number of contracts held by other contractors, notably KBR also based in Aberdeen. The timing of the contract award is fortuitous, as the Wood Group have current North Sea projects that are coming to a close. TotalFinaElf is believed to be the first major operator in the UK to reorganise its contracting approach to place all its engineering & construction work with one major UK contractor. |
