John Brown wins Buzzard WorkJohn Brown Hydrocarbons Limited have secured a major contract from EnCana UK Ltd., on behalf of itself and its co-venturers BG Group, Intrepid Energy and Edinburgh Oil and Gas. The contract is for the Concept Definition and Project Specification (CDPS) of the Buzzard Field including topsides, and export pipelines. Contractors Unlimited has not been advised of the contract value. The platform design work will be undertaken at John Brown's headquarters in Paddington, Central London. Once complete the platform will be located in the UK Central North Sea some 55 km north-east of St. Fergus. Buzzard, located 100km north east of Aberdeen, is one of the largest finds made off the UK coast in recent times. Reserves are estimated at around 1 billion barrels of oil. |
