Kvaerner secures contract in Brazil

The Aker Kvaerner subsidiary, Kvaerner Process Systems, announced that it has been awarded a contract for the supply of five utility modules for the Albacora Leste Field in Brazil's Campus Basin. The work will be undertaken in co-operation with Maua Jurong and Siemens Oil and Gas.

The total contract price is in excess of US$ 110 million, of which Kvaerner Process Systems' revenue will amount to approximately US$ 25 million.

The contract has been awarded by Petrobras Netherlands BV and strengthens Aker Kvaerner's position in Brazil.

The scope of work for Kvaerner Process Systems includes the supply of process packages utilising its own core technology and products. It is not known if the engineering will be carriewd out from Kvaerner Process Systems' Aberdeen office. The fabrication and assembly of the modules will take place at Maua Jurong's fabrication yard in Rio de Janeiro.
