Jacobs Awarded Cross London Rail Links Contract

Jacobs Engineering have announced they have been awarded a contract by Cross London Rail Links Ltd for the design development of surface railways and stations west of London, as part of the Crossrail scheme.

Officials did not disclose the contract value.

Jacobs will provide design services, risk assessment, and preliminary costing for approximately 18 stations and 35 miles of track west of Paddington, including buildings, track, bridges, tunnels, and all civil works.

The new $9 billion Crossrail scheme will provide a high-capacity, east-west rail link across the capital based on a core route running from Heathrow to Paddington, then to Liverpool Street with branches to Stratford and to the Isle of Dogs. This important scheme is central to the continuing development of London as one of the world's leading centers of commerce and the financial hub of Europe.
