Mott MacDonald Appointed on Fusion Project Control Framework

Mott MacDonald, teaming with BCF Solutions Inc, has been awarded a consultancy framework for the ITER project based in Cadarache, Provence, France.
ITER is a collaboration between the European Union (EU) and six major nations of the world in order to deliver an exciting mega-scale scientific experiment designed to demonstrate that commercial energy can be produced from nuclear fusion. If successful, the project has the potential to show how long term sustainable energy can be generated at low risk with very little waste.
The framework is for five years with the possibility of being extended by a further three. The Mott MacDonald and BCF team will provide project controls support, including scheduling, cost management, configuration controls and technical guidance for the management of procurement.
Mott MacDonald project director Steve Hough said:
"We are thrilled to be part of this very important project as it supports our desire to be at the forefront of technology, while tackling the real issue of power generation, in an economical and sustainable way."
Mott MacDonald has a wealth of expertise and experience in project and cost management with a portfolio across most infrastructure markets, from power to transport, health, water and environment.
Mott MacDonald's £1 billion business spans 120 countries with over 14,000 staff working in all sectors from transport, energy, buildings, water and the environment to health and education, industry and communications.
