KCA DEUTAG Awarded Drilling Contract by TAQA

KCA DEUTAG, the international drilling contractor, has been awarded a multimillion dollar contract by TAQA Energy B.V., the Dutch subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA).
The contract, which is for KCA DEUTAG's heavy land drilling rig T-45, comprises the provision of drilling and related services for TAQA Energy B.V. in the Netherlands.
Hans Schröer, KCA DEUTAG's Country Manager for Europe, said:
"This is a significant contract award for us and builds on KCA DEUTAG's long history of operations in the Netherlands."
"The wells will be drilled on two to three clusters in a batch drilling mode, which will require a high number of rig skidding processes. KCA DEUTAG has gained a lot of experience in skidding activities from other projects, such as the current rig operation of T-46 in Spain, and can show an impressive track record of fast skidding processes and further improvements."
KCA DEUTAG is one of the largest international land drilling contractors outside the Americas, and one of the largest platform drilling contractors in the North Sea. The company also operates a fleet of mobile offshore drilling units (3 wholly owned jack-ups and 7 part-owned Self Erect Tender Barges). KCA DEUTAG employs about 8,000 people and operates in over 20 countries worldwide.
RDS, KCA DEUTAG's Engineering Division, has been a leader in the design of drilling facilities for offshore units worldwide for over 30 years. The company's 500-strong workforce provides a range of engineering services from pre-project and Front End Engineering Design (FEED) through detail design, construction support, hook-up and commissioning. The company also executes projects as an Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Drilling (EPCD) contractor to provide platform drilling rigs on a turnkey basis from concept to operations.
