Foster Wheeler to Supply Terrace-Wall(TM) Steam Reforming Furnace for BP's Saltend Chemicals Complex

Foster Wheeler AG announced that its UK-headquartered subsidiary Foster Wheeler Energy Limited, part of its Global Engineering and Construction Group, has been awarded a contract for the design and supply of a Terrace-Wall steam reforming furnace by BP Chemicals Ltd. The Terrace-Wall reformer will replace the existing reformer at BP's chemicals complex at Saltend, near Hull, UK.
The Foster Wheeler contract value for this project was not disclosed and will be included in the company's first-quarter 2009 bookings. Earlier releases of the work were included in bookings for the third and fourth quarters of 2008.
Foster Wheeler's Terrace-Wall reformer is characterized by a firing arrangement and sloped-wall radiant section design that enable long catalyst and catalyst tube life, providing operational, reliability and cost benefits. Foster Wheeler has supplied over 200 Terrace-Wall steam reformers to the refining and petrochemical industries in more than 40 countries worldwide.
