KBR Selected for Pre-FEED Study by Egypt Hydrocarbon Corporation

KBR has been awarded a contract by Egypt Hydrocarbon Corporation (EHC) to complete a pre-Front End Engineering Design (pre-FEED) study for two polyethylene units at its proposed Petrochemical Complex. The complex will be located 25 km (15.5 miles) from Suez, Egypt, near the Red Sea.
Under the pre-FEED study, KBR will perform PolyEthylene (PE) technology evaluation and licensor recommendation to EHC. Currently, two PE plants are planned for installation, with each plant having a nominal capacity of 450 kta. The plants will be targeted to produce a broad range of HDPE and LLDPE resins.
The award of the pre-FEED study follows KBR's completion of various prefeasibility studies for the Petrochemical Complex's proposed plants, including: ammonia, ammonium nitrate, naphtha cracker, polyethylene and methanol plants. KBR has also completed a master plot plan study for the complex.
