Shaw Awarded Construction Services Contract by Pioneer01/05/2007
Shaw Constructors business unit awarded construction services contract by Pioneer Companies, Inc. to construct chlor-alkali unit as part of Pioneer's previously announced expansion of its chlor-alkali plant at St. Gabriel, Louisiana. Under the contract, Shaw will perform overall construction management and site construction work including, site preparation, architectural work, and installation of foundations, mechanical equipment, piping systems, electrical components and instrumentation.


New Subsea Development on Troll01/05/2007
Hydro award FMC Kongsberg Subsea AS contract to supply subsea well template and well heads for new seafloor development on Troll field. The contract, awarded by Hydro on behalf of its partners in the Troll license, comprises five subsea trees, one six-slot manifold with protection structures and related control systems. The systems will be engineered and manufactured at FMC's facilities in Kongsberg, Norway, and Dunfermline, Scotland.


Jacobs to Expand Polymer Plant for Borealis in Sweden01/05/2007
Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. receives contract from Borealis to provide detailed engineering to expand polymer production facility in Stenungsund, Sweden. New facility is scheduled for startup in 2008. Jacobs is executing work from its office in Stenungsund with support from regional resources as needed.


Aker Kvaerner Awarded Subsea Tie-in System in Brazil01/05/2007
Subsea 7 awards Aker Kvaerner key tie-in system project in Brazil, to be deployed in ESS-164 / Camarupim Field, Espírito Santo basin, as part of Petrobras Plangas Program. Contract value approximately USD 4 million. Scope of work comprises one retrievable tee structure with one 12 inch vertical connection system, with tools and accessories.


Aker Kvaerner Awarded Contract for Statoil Gjøa Platform07/05/2007
Aker Kvaerner awarded contract for delivery of mooring winches and fairleads for Statoil's Gjøa Semi. The work will be undertaken by Aker Kvaerner subsidiary, Aker Kvaerner Pusnes in Arendal. The contract involves supply of on-vessel mooring equipment for Statoils Gjøa Semi to be installed at the Gjøa field in the North Sea.


Aker Kvaerner Awarded Subsea Boosting Systems Contract07/05/2007
Aker Kvaerner awarded contract to supply eight subsea boosting systems to Petrobras, Brazil's national oil company. Scope of work comprises eight subsea boosting systems, including power distribution, vertical connection modules, tools, accessories and spares. All systems will be deployed in the Jubarte Phase II field, as part of its artificial lift system. Work will be completed from Aker Kvaerner's subsea facility in Curitiba within 14 months.


Shaw Signs Letters of Intent with Petrokemya07/05/2007
Shaw Group's Shaw Stone & Webster business unit signs two letters of intent to provide proprietary furnace equipment and professional services to Arabian Petrochemical Company - Petrokemya, an affiliate of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), as part of the Olefins-1 Debottlenecking Project at an existing ethylene plant in Jubail Industrial City, Saudi Arabia.


Shaw Awarded EPC Contract for New 600 MW Ultra-Supercritical Power Plant07/05/2007
Shaw Group awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO), a unit of American Electric Power (AEP), to build a new 600 MW electric generating plant in Hempstead County, Arkansas. SWEPCO is seeking the necessary regulatory approvals to build the plant from various Arkansas, Texas and Louisiana authorities.


B&W Awarded Contract to Supply and Construct Environmental Control Equipment08/05/2007
McDermott International's subsidiary, The Babcock & Wilcox Company ("B&W"), receives contract for engineering, materials, construction, start-up and commissioning of environmental equipment at Allegheny Energy's Fort Martin Power Station near Maidsville, West Virginia. For its share of the plant's total $550 million project, B&W will perform work on Fort Martin's two 550-megawatt supercritical coal-fired boilers - Unit 1, started up in 1967, and Unit 2, originally supplied by B&W in 1968. B&W will supply wet flue-gas desulfurization ("WFGD") systems, commonly called scrubbers, for each unit including absorber areas and a common reagent preparation and dewatering system.


Major Drilling Equipment Contract to Aker Kvaerner08/05/2007
Aker Kvaerner awarded contract from Jurong Shipyard Pte. Ltd in Singapore for delivery of drilling system for ultra deepwater drilling semi-submersible unit. Contract is undertaken by Aker Kvaerner subsidiary Aker Kvaerner MH in Kristiansand, Norway. Scope of work is to deliver a complete drilling package consisting of engineering, drilling equipment and subsea equipment.


Subsea 7 Contract Award on Peregrino Project13/05/2007
Subsea 7 Inc awarded contract valued in excess of US $115 million by an affiliate of Norsk Hydro and Anadarko in connection with the development of the Peregrino concession, in the Campos Basin offshore Brazil. The contract will involve the engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of six steel pipelines totalling approximately 30 km, as well as the installation of twelve flexible risers. The contract also involves the installation of four power cables totalling approximately 20 km, and the installation of two mid water arches to support the power cables.


Verkhnechonskneftegaz Prepares to Deliver Oil to VSTO Pipeline13/05/2007
Verkhnechonskneftegaz, which is developing the Verkhnechonskoe oil and gas condensate field in Irkutsk Oblast, is planning to supply oil to the VSTO (Eastern Siberian - Pacific Ocean) pipeline on completion of the first stage of construction. The company states at the current rates of work, Verkhnechonskneftegaz plans to start supplying commercial quantities of oil to the VSTO pipeline in the second half of 2008.


Foster Wheeler Awarded Circulating Fluidized-Bed Boiler Contract13/05/2007
Foster Wheeler Ltd's Finnish subsidiary Foster Wheeler Energia Oy, part of its Global Power Group, awarded contract by Kaukaan Voima Oy Helsinki, Finland for a 385 MWth circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) boiler island to be located in Lappeenranta in eastern Finland. The new biomass power plant will supply process steam and electricity to adjacent UPM-Kymmene Corporation's pulp and paper mill, as well as district heat and electricity to Lappeenrannan Energia.


Babcock & Wilcox Awarded Power Plant Contract15/05/2007
McDermott International, Inc. subsidiary, The Babcock & Wilcox Company ("B&W"), receives contract valued at more than $250 million from American Electric Power, for its Southwestern Electric Power Company ("SWEPCO") subsidiary, to design, supply and erect a 600-megawatt ("MW") net coal-fired boiler and environmental control equipment for Unit 1 at the John W. Turk, Jr. Power Plant, a new baseload power plant in Hempstead County, Ark., about 15 miles northeast of Texarkana, Ark.


Fluor Wins Contract for Acetyls Complex in Jubail, Saudi Arabia15/05/2007
Fluor Corporation to provide engineering, procurement, construction management and precommissioning services to Saudi International Petrochemical Co. Ltd. for an acetyls complex in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. Fluor's Calgary office will provide project management, procurement and design of the vinyl acetate monomer and utilities plants; its Greenville, S.C., office will provide acetic acid plant design, and its New Delhi office will provide detailed engineering.


Advanced Power Raises €31.5m from 3i and Directors to Fund

3i and Advanced Power announce that 3i, together with members of the board of Advanced Power, agreed to invest €31.5m in Advanced Power AG, a Swiss-based development business focused on developing conventional power generation stations across Europe and North America. Advanced Power has a pipeline of 10 developments at different stages, all expected to receive planning permission within the next 5 years, and the most advanced within 9 months.


AMEC Wins Second Petrochina Dushanzi Contract15/05/2007
AMEC appointed by Petrochina Dushanzi Petrochemical Company as Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT) contractor for management of safety, health and environmental and quality assurance and control on Dushanzi Refinery and Ethylene Technical Reformation project, western China. The multi-million dollar contract begins immediately and will run for two years.


KBR Awarded Contracts by Shell Canada for Scotford
Upgrader Expansion

KBR awarded contracts to provide field construction and module fabrication services by Shell Canada for the Scotford Upgrader Expansion east of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. KBR's scope of work will include the fabrication of 160 modules and will peak at approximately 800 personnel performing field construction and module services work. The Scotford Upgrader Expansion project is part of the Athabasca Oil Sands Project (AOSP) Expansion 1, which will add approximately 100,000 barrels per day of capacity to the AOSP bitumen mining and upgrading facilities. AOSP is a joint venture between Shell Canada, Chevron Canada Limited and Western Oil Sands L.P.


Hydro Steps Up Bauxite Exploration15/05/2007
Hydro signs memorandum of understanding with Australian mining company United Minerals Corporation (UMC) to explore the possibility of bauxite mining and alumina refining in the Kimberly region in Western Australia. Final agreement would give Hydro a 75 percent holding in a potential bauxite and alumina project, in line with Hydro's strategy to grow in primary aluminium production and raise its equity coverage of the key raw material alumina.


Aker Kvaerner Wins Subsea Contract on Indian Continental Shelf16/05/2007
Aker Kvaerner signed letter of intent with Aker Floating Production in January 2007 and has now signed final contract to deliver complete subsea production system to Reliance Industries in India. The value of Aker Kvaerner's contract is in excess of US$ 300 Million.


Jacobs Receives Fort Hills Oil Sands Bitumen Production Contract16/05/2007
Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. receive contract from Fort Hills Energy L.P. to provide engineering design and procurement services for Utilities and Off-sites (U&O) component of bitumen production scope of the Fort Hills project. The mine is located in Alberta's Athabasca oil sands area, approximately 90 kilometers north of Fort McMurray, Canada.


Subsea 7 Awarded Contracts on Vega and Troll O2 Projects17/05/2007
Subsea 7 Inc awarded two contracts by Norsk Hydro for work in the North Sea with a combined value in excess of US $340 million. The first is an Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning (EPIC) contract valued at US $280 million for work on the Vega and Vega South fields. The second is an EPIC contract worth approximately US $61 million for the Troll O2 field.


AMEC Awarded Dam Safety Contract in Arizona21/05/2007
AMEC awarded contract by the Flood Control District of Maricopa County to provide up to $500,000 in on-call dam-safety geotechnical services over the next two years. It is the fifth such on-call contract awarded to AMEC's Tempe office. The award is a key win for AMEC's dam, levee and flood control business practice.


Technip Awarded Flexible Pipe Contract in Norway21/05/2007
Technip awarded engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by BP, worth approximately €90 million, for flexible pipes for Skarv FPSO located in Norwegian part of North Sea. This contract covers flexible risers, flexible jumpers and associated equipment.


BP and Rio Tinto Plan Clean Coal Project21/05/2007
BP and Rio Tinto today announced they are beginning feasibility studies and work on plans for the potential development of a A$2 billion (US$1.5 billion) coal-fired power generation project at Kwinana in Western Australia that would be fully integrated with carbon capture and storage to reduce its emissions of greenhouse gases. This will be the first new project for Hydrogen Energy, the new company launched by BP and Rio Tinto last week, subject to regulatory approval.


Aker Kvaerner Awarded Well Service Contract with Talisman21/05/2007
Talisman Energy Norge AS awards Aker Kvaerner service contract for provision of personnel and equipment for well intervention services on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, including the Gyda, Varg, Yme and Rev fields. The contract is for a firm period of two years, plus three times one year optional periods.


Jacobs Awarded Suncor Energy Contract22/05/2007
Jacobs Engineering Group receive contract to provide front-end engineering design specifications for Stage 4 of Suncor's Firebag In-situ Oil Sands project, near Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada. Firebag 4 (FB4) is expected to deliver 62.5 thousand barrels per calendar day of hot dry bitumen with the first steam in 2010. FB4 also is expected to generate 160 MW of cogeneration power.


Jacobs Awarded Four-Year Contract Extension From Dow22/05/2007
Jacobs Engineering Group receive four-year contract extension from Dow Chemical of Canada Inc. to provide industrial maintenance services at Dow's petrochemical complex in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada. The C$100 million (US $90.4 million), four-year contract scope includes maintenance services, sustaining capital support, turnarounds, and scaffold erection and dismantling.


MOU Signed for New Oil Refinery in Panama24/05/2007
Qatar Petroleum International, Occidental Midstream Projects Ltd. (a subsidiary of Occidental Petroleum) and Panama Government sign Memorandum of Understanding to develop an oil refinery in the Republic of Panama with design capacity of 350,000 barrels of crude oil per day, to meet growing demand for fuel and oil derivatives for the local and neighboring markets.


Foster Wheeler Awarded Delayed Coker Contract for the New Aramco/Total Refinery24/05/2007
Qatar Petroleum International, Occidental Midstream Projects Ltd. (a subsidiary of Occidental Petroleum) and Panama Government sign Memorandum of Understanding to develop an oil refinery in the Republic of Panama with design capacity of 350,000 barrels of crude oil per day, to meet growing demand for fuel and oil derivatives for the local and neighboring markets.


Qatar Petroleum Gets $2bn Tunisian Refinery Deal30/05/2007
Tunisia's Energy Ministry granted state-owned Qatar Petroleum company a $2bn refinery deal, ministry and company officials have said. "We are happy to sign the agreement with Tunisia to construct a refinery whose capacity is about 150,000 barrels per day", HE Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah, Qatar's Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry, said at the deal signing ceremony in Tunis.


J. Ray McDermott Awarded Major Saudi Aramco Offshore Contract30/05/2007
McDermott International, Inc. confirmed Tuesday that its subsidiary, J. Ray McDermott, S.A. ("J. Ray"), was awarded a four-year project by Saudi Aramco to engineer, procure, construct, install, hook-up and commission the Manifa Field Facilities in the Arabian Gulf. "It's a matter of great pride for us to be associated with this significant project," said Bob Deason, President and Chief Operating Officer of J. Ray. "Saudi Aramco is a long-term and valued customer. Our safe delivery of past structures won us recognition from them last year; and we expect to achieve high safety and quality performance on the Manifa project as well."


Expro Secures New Contracts Worth £200m04/06/2007
Expro International Group announces award of contracts totalling US$400 million across both its Global and Regional Businesses. The total of these awards has helped Expro achieve a record order book, which now stands at US$1.2 billion across the Group. Conversion of the backlog to revenue varies from contract to contract, with some phased out over three to five years improving the visibility of future revenue streams.


SNC-Lavalin and WorleyParsons Awarded EPCM Contract In UAE04/06/2007
SNC-Lavalin awarded, in joint venture with its Australian partner WorleyParsons, major engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services contract by Emirates Aluminium (Emal). SNC-Lavalin's share in the joint venture will be 67%, and its revenues from the contract will be approximately $US200 million.


Saipem Awarded New Onshore Contract in Algeria06/06/2007
Sonatrach awards consortium composed of Saipem, as leader, and the company Lead Contracting, an EPC contract encompassing the engineering, procurement and construction of a crude oil treatment and stabilisation plant (UBTS, Unité de Traitement du Brut et de sa Stabilisation).


CB&I Awarded LNG Project In Chile06/06/2007
CB&I awarded contract by GNL Quintero S.A. of Chile to build a liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification terminal at Quintero Bay, Chile. The contract is valued at approximately $775 million. GNL Quintero S.A. is a joint venture between Endesa Chile, ENAP, Metrogas Chile and BG Group plc.


Technip Awarded Contract For YME Field Redevelopment Project06/06/2007
Technip awarded by Talisman Energy turnkey contract, worth approximately €110 million, for Yme field re-development. This field, located 100km offshore Norway, is today operated by Talisman Energy. Technip's operations and engineering centre in Oslo (Norway) will execute the contract. The flowlines will be welded at one of Technip's spoolbases.


Bechtel Wins Brass LNG Project Management Contract11/06/2007
Brass LNG Limited enters into Project Management contract with Bechtel Corporation of the United States to manage some aspects of construction work on the Brass LNG Project. The contract covers the coordination of all plant site activity for the construction of the Brass LNG project comprising two trains of 5 million metric tons per annum, as well as other works involved in the construction of the plant.


Jacobs Receives Wyeth Contract for PLX Pilot Laboratory Facility13/06/2007
Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. receiveS contract from Wyeth Medica Ireland to provide detailed design and construction management services for new pilot scale laboratory facility at the Grange Castle site, Clondalkin, Ireland. The development includes expanding and consolidating all development activities on site to support manufacturing and finishing operations.

AMEC Wins Clean-Air System Contract15/06/2007
AMEC announces US power generator Southern Company awarded it contract to install new clean-air systems on two 865-megawatt coal-fired boilers in Georgia. The contract will see AMEC construct new scrubber system designed to remove sulfur dioxide from existing coal-fired boilers' emissions.


AMEC to Support Key Contract in Korea15/06/2007
AMEC positions itself for future environmental work in South Korea as member of consortium that won major contract with the U.S. Army. Under the contract with the Far East District of the U.S. Army Engineer Division, SK Engineering & Construction (SKEC), supported by AMEC and other partners, will provide up to US$14 million in environmental services to the Department of Defense and other U.S. government interests in Korea.


Moomba Carbon Storage Demonstration Project20/06/2007
Santos confirms that it submitted proposal to the Federal Government last week regarding what was presented as the Moomba Carbon Storage ("MCS") project. This follows discussions with government officials extending back into 2006. It is important to note that the Government has not responded to this proposal and it remains under consideration.


AMEC Awarded Contract to Manage Mine Upgrade20/06/2007
PotashCorp, the world's largest fertilizer enterprise, awards AMEC a contract to design and manage expansion of a leading potash mine. Escalating global demand for the potash, a mineral essential to fertilizer, is expected to rise by more than 12 percent this year and is cited as one of the reasons PotashCorp will invest CDN $900 million (£430m) to upgrade its Cory Potash Mine in Saskatchewan, Canada.


Fluor and J. Ray McDermott Awarded Poinsettia Project20/06/2007
Fluor Corporation's subsidiary, Fluor Daniel South America Limited, will lead a consortium with J. Ray McDermott, a subsidiary of McDermott International, Inc., to provide program management, engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of the 4,000-ton topsides for an offshore drilling and gas production platform for BG Trinidad & Tobago Limited. The Poinsettia project will be located off the northwest coast of Trinidad in 530 feet of water.


Aker Kvaerner to Deliver Process Technology20/06/2007
Aker Kvaerner signs contract for delivery of equipment and modifications to Aker Floating Production's SMART 1 Floating Production Storage Offloading (FPSO) vessel. This new contract is an amendment to a contract awarded in November 2006 for both SMART 1 and 2 vessels.


Bechtel Signs EPCM Agreement with Prairie State Energy Campus21/06/2007
Prairie State Energy Campus enters final phase of project development to begin construction this autumn. Prairie State has: signed a $2.9 billion engineering, procurement, construction and management (EPCM) agreement with Bechtel Power Corporation for the power-related facilities; committed to state-of-the-art supercritical technologies and emission control equipment with three global technology firms; expanded agreements with current equity partners; and brought on board a new partner.


Fluor Awarded Canadian Power Plant Project21/06/2007
Fluor Corporation subsidiary, Fluor Canada, Ltd., awarded procurement and construction project by St. Clair Power, L.P. to build 570-megawatt combined cycle power plant in Ontario, Canada. Fluor received full notice to proceed in the first quarter 2007. Completion of the power plant is projected to be in fourth quarter 2008. The approximate contract value of the award is $250 million.


Fluor Awarded Full Notice to Proceed for TXU's Oak Grove Project27/06/2007
Fluor receives full notice to proceed from a subsidiary of TXU Corp., Oak Grove Management Company LLC, to complete engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPC) services for the estimated $1.8 billion Oak Grove power plant project. As announced in June 2006, Fluor began engineering and procurement services from its Greenville, South Carolina, project execution office awaiting approval of the air permit from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), which was received on June 13, 2007.


E.ON to Build Pilot Plant for CO2 Capture27/06/2007
As the first company in Europe, E.ON will be testing a new process in Sweden which can be used to remove up to 90 per cent of the carbon dioxide (CO2) from power plant flue gases. The method is currently being developed by Alstom, the power generation specialist. E.ON and Alstom have now agreed to continue developing the technology at E.ON's power plant at Karlshamn to a stage where it can be used in the actual environment of a power plant. The pilot plant at Karlshamn is to start trial operation in early 2008.


AMEC Joint Venture Wins Extension to Offshore Oil and Gas Contract27/06/2007
Joint venture between Clough Ltd and AMEC awarded a multi-million dollar, 15-month extension to its operations and maintenance contract by ConocoPhillips Australia for the Bayu-Undan Offshore Development located in the Timor Sea. Clough AMEC will continue to service the production facilities at the Bayu-Undan gas and condensate field, located about 250 kilometres south of Suai, Timor-Leste, and 500 kilometres north-west of Darwin, Australia. Clough AMEC supports this contract from its offices in Perth and Darwin, training centre in Dili, Timor-Leste and through the provision of offshore based personnel.
