Jacobs Receives Ciba Specialty Chemicals Contract

Jacobs Engineering Group's Singapore operation has been appointed by Ciba Specialty Chemicals Industries (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. to provide engineering, procurement, and construction management services for Ciba's new antioxidant manufacturing facility on Singapore's Jurong Island.

The new 30,000 tons per annum plant will ensure continuous supply of antioxidants to the fast growing polymer industry in Asia Pacific and the Middle East. It is based on fully automated processes representing the latest technology for synthesis and formgiving of Ciba's products. It comprises a process structure, tank farm, service building, utilities, and related site development. Production start up is expected in early 2008.

Jacobs will provide engineering, procurement, and construction management services from its Singapore office using local and Asia region resources.
