CB&I Expands Engineering Capacity with New Middle East Centre
CB&I has opened a new global engineering center in the Middle East to address the increased demand for engineering work resulting from the Company's strong growth in new project awards.
Located in Ajman, northeast of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, the center will expand CB&I's current worldwide engineering resources. It has space to house more than 200 engineers and support staff, and will utilize a wide range of engineering software platforms, facilitating work sharing between offices and flexibility in responding to customer requirements. Drawing from a pool of talented, top quality engineers based in the UAE, the Ajman facility will help CB&I continue to deliver quality engineering support to projects across all of its global markets. The center is expected to be working at full strength by the fourth quarter of 2007.
"Maintaining and enhancing our engineering resources is critical to the continued success of CB&I's business model as a complete, sole-source EPC provider," noted John Redmon, CB&I's Executive Vice President - Operations. "With an initial focus on the detailed engineering of process facilities, our new center in the UAE will augment our capability to provide high-value design solutions to oil and gas customers worldwide."
