Jacobs Receives General Engineering Consultant Contract

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has received a contract from Polk County, Florida., to serve as General Engineering Consultant (GEC) under a Master Consulting Agreement. Officials did not disclose the contract value but noted that with options exercised the contract could extend to 10 years.

Polk County is located in the central region of Florida, and is home to nearly 500,000 people. The county recently adopted a $1.6 billion infrastructure program and is employing engineering services to support them in the process. Jacobs will serve as an extension of County staff to provide project management, engineering, public involvement, construction management, and construction engineering inspection services.

In making this announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Allyn Taylor stated, "Polk County is dedicating significant funding to transportation improvements and we look forward to providing assistance as they expand and improve the transportation infrastructure for their residents."
