AMEC Berca Indonesia Awarded Tunu Oil and Gas Contract
AMEC Berca Indonesia (ABI), AMEC's Indonesian joint venture company with CCM Group, based in Jakarta, has won a US$1million oil and gas engineering design contract on Total E&P Indonesie's Tunu Phase 11 development, Indonesia.
ABI will be responsible for detailed engineering work, including pre-engineering, survey, detailed engineering and final documentation for a new utility platform for the Tunu shallow-water gas field in the Mahakam Delta, East Kalimantan.
The contract has been awarded by PT Punj Lloyd Indonesia, Total's engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the platform.
The work is scheduled to be completed in September 2007, with the platform due to commence operation in mid-2008.
This is the third contract awarded to ABI in the last month, the most recent of which was the provision of detailed design services to PT Meindo Elang Indah for Total's Tatun Oily Water platform, also in the Mahakam Delta.
TUNU is a gas and condensate field located on the East Kalimantan (Indonesia) on the outer margin of the Mahakam delta, partially onshore in swamp areas and partially offshore in shallow waters. The main objective of the Phase 11 development is to maintain production whilst allowing for a decrease in the wellhead pressure from the current 25-30 barg to as low as 10 barg, with a corresponding reduction of the reservoir abandonment pressure.
PT AMEC Berca Indonesia (ABI), established in 2002, is a wholly Indonesian joint venture company with the Berca Engineering subsidiaries of local business conglomerate, CCM Group. ABI provides a broad range of services across the supply chain, from project management and consultancy, engineering, procurement, construction management and operations and maintenance to the oil, gas, petrochemical and process industries.
ABI has executed numerous projects for TOTAL in Indonesia, most recently for detailed design works for TOTAL's Tambora Phase 2 Project, completed in September 2006. ABI has worked with Punj Lloyd in Indonesia on a number of projects since 1997, including TOTAL's Tunu Phase 9 trunkline project, completed in mid-2005.
