Toshiba Corporation announces acquisition of BNFL USA Group Inc. and Westinghouse UK Limited (collectively Westinghouse), following completion of final arrangements with British Nuclear Fuels Limited on October 16. Westinghouse Electric Company is now a Toshiba Corporation consolidated group company.  |
| Investment in New Energy Technologies Institute | 03/11/2006 |
Scottish and Southern Energy plc become partner in new Energy Technologies Institute, details of which have been announced by the Chancellor of the Exchequer. It will provide the Institute with up to £2.5m a year for five years. The Institute's remit is to accelerate the development of secure, reliable and cost-effective low-carbon energy technologies towards commercial deployment.  |
| ExxonMobil Participate in Major European Research Initiative | 07/11/2006 |
Exxon Mobil Corporation to participate in major European research initiative aimed at evaluating the role that Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology may play in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. ExxonMobil will contribute over 1 million Euros and provide expert technical guidance to the CO2ReMoVe project, sponsored by the European Commission Directorate General for Research.  |

| Petrofac Acquire Interest in Chergui Concession in Tunisia | 13/11/2006 |
Petrofac's Resources division agrees to acquire a 45% interest in the Chergui concession, Tunisia, for a cash consideration of approximately US$30 million. Petrofac will be operator of the concession. Petrofac has agreed to acquire the interest from Entreprise Tunisienne D'Activities Petrolieres (ETAP), the Tunisian state oil company, which holds the remaining 55% interest.  |

Mitsui Babcock, the UK-based multi-specialist energy services company, says that its Parent company, Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding, signed agreement to sell 100% of the Mitsui Babcock business to Doosan Heavy Industries (UK) Limited, for JPY 20 billion (approx £100m). Completion of the deal is expected by January 2007.  |
| Total Sells Power Generation Assets in Argentina | 13/11/2006 |
Total signs agreements to sell its power generation interests in Argentina. Since 2001, Total has held a 63.9% interest in Central Puerto S.A., one of Argentina's leading thermal power generators with rated capacity of 2,165 MW, and a 41.3% interest in Hidroélectrica Piedra de Águila, with a 1,400 MW hydroelectric plant in Neuquén province.  |

Halma, the safety, health and sensor technology group, announces the completion on 24 November 2006 of the acquisition of Tritech Holdings Limited ('Tritech') from R J Marsh and R K Wright for an initial cash consideration of £8.0 million. Simultaneously, Halma completed the acquisition of Swift (943) Limited (trading as 'System Technologies'), Tritech's design and product manufacturing partner, from M St E Cardew, S E St E Cardew, J P N Trepte and A G Trepte for an initial consideration of £2.0 million.  |

| First Gas From New Dutch Pipeline | 01/12/2006 |
Gas will flow for the first time today through new pipeline under the North Sea which connects the UK to the Netherlands. The Bacton - Balgzand pipeline (BBL) will supply 8% of the UK's gas needs and is the third new piece of infrastructure to come on stream this winter. It will increase energy security and add a further downward pressure on energy prices.  |

Nexen Inc.'s Buzzard oil field in the UK North Sea expected to come online later this month. In October, the partners in Buzzard said they expected commercial oil flows to begin in November, but they later pushed back the date to the end of the year.  |

Aberdeen and Highland based oil services company, Global Resources, acquires specialist QHSE consultancy Banford Associates of Inverurie, Aberdeenshire for an undisclosed sum. This is the company's second acquisition in as many weeks, following the purchase of a majority shareholding in Isleburn, a major UK fabricator and engineering contractor.  |

| Chevron Welcomes Gorgon Environmental Appeal Decision | 14/12/2006 |
Chevron Corporation confirmes that Western Australia's environment minister has cleared the way for environmental approval to be granted to the Gorgon project subject to conditions. The minister has upheld the Gorgon proponents' appeal of the Western Australia Environmental Protection Authority's June 2006 advisory bulletin that recommended against the Gorgon project's Environment Impact Statement and Environmental Review and Management Plan.  |
| Hydro and Partners Submit PDO of Vega and Vega South Fields | 18/12/2006 |
Operator Hydro and its partners submitt Plan for development and operation (PDO) of Vega and Vega South fields to the Norwegian Ministry of Oil & Energy. "This plan is an important part of our effort to further develop Hydro's activities in this part of the North Sea, where the company already has production from the Troll, Fram and Fram East fields," says Hydro director Lars Christian Alsvik.  |

The Shah Deniz development in Azerbaijan's sector of the Caspian has become one of the world's largest producing gas fields. With a 25.5% working interest, Statoil is responsible for selling output from this BP-operated discovery as operator for the Azerbaijan Gas Supply Company.  |

With reference to the news regarding Eni's involvement in the realization of a pipeline linking Turkey to Israel, Eni clarifies that it has never held talks - nor is it planning - to begin construction of pipelines carrying oil, natural gas and water from Turkey's port of Ceyhan to any destination in the Mediterranean Sea, including Israel.  |
| Hydro and Statoil Merge Oil and Gas Activities | 18/12/2006 |
Board of Directors of Hydro and Statoil agree to recommend to their shareholders a merger of Hydro's oil and gas activities with Statoil, creating the worlds largest offshore operator with a strengthened platform for future growth. The new company will have a combined production of 1.9 million barrels per day in 2007 and proven oil and gas reserves of 6.3 billion barrels of oil equivalents. Hydro will continue as a leading, focused global aluminium company.  |
| Petrofac Investment in UK North Sea Interest | 18/12/2006 |
Petrofac's Resources division acquires 60% interest in part of Block 211/18a in UK North Sea containing the Don Southwest discovery. Petrofac approved as licence operator of the interest. Petrofac acquired the interest from BP and ConocoPhillips alongside Don Development Company Limited, a subsidiary of Valiant Petroleum, which has acquired the remaining 40% interest.  |
| UK Government Go-ahead For Two Major Offshore Wind Farms | 19/12/2006 |
UK Government gives go-ahead for two major offshore wind farms to be built in the Thames Estuary. The London Array and Thanet schemes together total 1.3GW of green electricity, enough to power a third of London's three million households when fully operational. They will make a significant contribution to the Government's ambition - set out in the Energy Review - to deliver a five-fold increase in the UK's renewable energy resource by 2020.  |
| Statoil: Libya Office Officially Opened | 19/12/2006 |
Statoil's Libyan office inaugurated on 11 December in the country's capital, Tripoli. It was opened by Norway's petroleum and energy minister, Odd Roger Enoksen. The office was established by Statoil in 2005, the same year in which the group was allocated operatorship for two onshore licences.  |

| Gazprom, Shell, Mitsui, Mitsubishi Sign Sakhalin II Protocol | 29/12/2006 |
OAO Gazprom (Gazprom), Royal Dutch Shell plc (Shell), Mitsui & Co., Ltd (Mitsui) and Mitsubishi Corporation (Mitsubishi) signed protocol to bring Gazprom into the Sakhalin Energy Investment Company Ltd. (SEIC) as a leading shareholder. Under the terms of the protocol, Gazprom will acquire a 50% stake plus one share in SEIC for a total cash purchase price of $7.45 billion.  |
