Saudi Aramco Opens New Office in Kuala Lumpur

Saudi Aramco have officially opened the new Aramco Overseas Company (AOC) office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The office will focus on the strategic sourcing of new companies involved in manufacturing and contracting of material for Saudi Aramco, creating significant business opportunities for Malaysia through the company's massive capital programs.

Saudi Aramco's long-range plan is to focus on and capture the emerging markets in Southeast Asia, through a combination of the strategic location of the Kuala Lumpur office in the region and Saudi Arabia's strong commercial, cultural and religious ties with Malaysia.

"Saudi Aramco has strong ties with some Malaysian manufacturers and service providers, and we are eager to enhance and expand on these relationships," said Abdulaziz F. Al-Khayyal, Saudi Aramco senior vice president of Refining, Marketing and International. "This new office in Kuala Lumpur, in the heart of this nation's petroleum industry, will allow us to better coordinate future business opportunities here."

The main function of the office in Kuala Lumpur, which operates under AOC's direct supervision, is to identify and assess manufacturer capability and performance, focusing on material supply services and inspection, against Saudi Aramco's critical commodities.

The AOC office is optimally located at the global energy landmark of Petronas Twin Towers, in Kuala Lumpur's city center and commercial heartland. Most international energy companies are located in or near to the towers, close to the city's diplomatic area.
