Wood Group Joint Venture Wins Major BP Contract in Trinidad

Neal & Massy Wood Group (NMWG), a Trinidadian company jointly owned by Neal & Massy Holdings Ltd and John Wood Group PLC ("Wood Group"), has been awarded a five-year integrated maintenance contract by BP. The contract includes the provision of minor modifications and integrated maintenance services for all BP's offshore platforms and relevant upstream facilities in Trinidad. BP took the decision to nominate one fully integrated service provider rather than multiple service providers to improve the safety, integrity and efficiency of BP facilities, to build up a significant local integrated maintenance and modifications capability in Trinidad, and to improve the competency and skills of the local Trinidadian workforce. The contract value has not been disclosed, but BP is currently spending approximately $50m per annum on the maintenance support activities to be taken over.

Les Thomas, Group Board Director responsible for Production Facilities said, "We have been working with top local group Neal & Massy for the last three years and are delighted that BP has awarded NMWG this significant contract. We intend to invest significantly in enhancing local know-how, skills and competencies and to work with our local partner to significantly enhance the integrity and efficiency of BP's upstream facilities on the Island and at the same time establish an engineering modifications and maintenance contractor with world-class local employees which will operate across the Caribbean and into the Americas".
