Jacobs Receives Qatar Petroleum Contract

Jacobs LogoJacobs Engineering has received a services and infrastructure contract for the design of the new Qatar Petroleum (QP) complex in Doha, Qatar.

Jacobs will work with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM) to develop an approximately 600,000 square meter site within the Lusail commercial development located on the new Al-Khor expressway just outside of the northern Doha city limits. The development brief includes approximately 200,000 square meters of commercial, communication, educational, leisure, and medical facilities as well as a 100,000 square meter multi-story parking structure.

In addition to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems engineering, Jacobs will deliver all infrastructure designs and coordinate all services across the project. The project's schedule, from inception to construction completion, is expected to be approximately 4 years.

Jacobs' design services include building and fire services engineering, civil engineering, infrastructure design, and traffic and environmental impact assessment. In addition, Jacobs will provide advice on sustainability, "green building" design issues, and environmental accreditation for the facility.
