Vetco to Upgrade F&G Detection Systems on Ula

BP Norge and Vetco Aibel have signed a contract where Vetco Aibel shall do the engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of new fire and gas detectors with its control system on the three Ula platforms. The Ula field is located on the Norwegian side of the North Sea, and operated by BP Norge.

The Ula Fire & Gas Upgrade projects include removal of all 1200 exsisting detectors and its controlsystem, without disturbing the production, and replace these with 1400 new state of the art detectors. Such new technology will increase coverage and quality of detected information.

The project team will be located in Stavanger, Norway, and the offshore installation will be done by staff from Haugesund.

The project starts immediately, and shall be completed in 2nd quarter of 2008.
