Acergy Expansion Creates 100 Jobs With Office Move
Acergy UK is on a major recruitment drive to enlist 100 staff, over the next two years, as building work is set to begin on its new innovative office, workshop and leisure complex in Aberdeen, Scotland.
The company, which currently employs around 500 personnel at its current base in Bucksburn, Aberdeen, will move and expand into its own specially designed multi-purpose campus in the city's Westhill Business Park with capacity for 650, with a further option to extend the premises to house 800 personnel.
After a five month tendering process, Acergy is in the final stages of agreeing with its preferred contractor, the specification, design and build of a contemporary working and leisure environment to cater for its continued expansion following a doubling in revenue over the past three years. Building work is planned to begin in October this year, with entry in late 2007.
More than 100 jobs will be created in the Aberdeen base, as the company actively looks to recruit to fill a wide range of engineering and administration positions.
The prestigious 17-acre site, will house a modern office building on three floors, with capacity to create a collaborative working space for more than 650 employees. The design of the office areas will be centred round two impressive glass atriums with a restaurant and coffee bar, located within the 'heart' of the building.
The new workshop facility, complete with external yard, will be 44% larger than the current building at Bucksburn and will house the company's growing team of expert technicians and maintenance staff to develop the latest subsea technology.
Acergy will be the first Subsea Company in Scotland to have its own leisure complex for the full use of its employees and families. Staff will be able to enjoy two squash courts, a multi-purpose gym and weights room. The impressive games hall is capable of hosting five-a-side football tournaments and aerobics classes and will also be used for all staff meetings with seating capacity of 600.
Tim Sheehan, Managing Director of Acergy UK Limited, said: "The establishment of the new campus in Aberdeen sends a clear message of Acergy's strategic intent to invest in the future of Scotland's economy and its skilled workforce. The expansion of the business and our premises must be seen as very positive for both our current employees and those looking to join us.
"We are actively looking to recruit more than 100 people over the next few years and we believe the new premises and our objective to be the employer of choice will entice new talent."
"The exciting development at Westhill marks a major milestone in the creation of a world class engineering function for Acergy and we want our staff and clients to feel as confident as we do about the future growth of Acergy and our long-term investment in the industry."
