2006 - A Year of Problems, Challenges and Solutions Forthcoming Legislation
Many employers must already be viewing this year as one of potentially expensive problems but it may be a time of opportunity and, with the help of Qdos Consulting, a year to challenge the problems, overcome the difficulties and seek working solutions to the new legislation.
In brief what does 2006 hold?
6 April - Transfer of Undertakings 2006 Regulations
New requirements in connection with transfers and notification of employee information.
6 April - New Code of Practice implemented from the Commission for Racial equality
Working Practices and Recruitment within the workplace.
1 October - Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006
The whole range of policies and procedures within the workforce. Particular impact on recruitment and discrimination areas, right through training, work development to retirement and redundancy.
1 October - National Minimum Wage
Any increase will have implications for recruitment and terms and conditions for existing staff with the erosion of pay differentials.
1 October - Flexible Working (Eligibility, Complaints and Remedies) (Amendment) Regulations
This will allow carers of adults to apply for flexible working from April 2007. This increases the number of staff potentially entitled to apply to change working practices so impacting on work practices and procedures.
It is a year when there is an essential need to look at your policies and consider what changes will be needed to comply with the complexities of the new legislation and how to implement the new policies. There is a need to undertake training for managers to ensure that all staff understand and comply with their new obligations.
So, to sum up - a year of challenges and Qdos Consulting is here to help you with:
:: The review and revision of your policies
:: Support in implementing your new policies
:: Essential training for your managers AND staff
:: On going support through our advice line
