SNC-Lavalin Awarded CPF Contract by Saudi Aramco
SNC-Lavalin has been awarded a converted lump sum turnkey contract by Saudi Aramco to design and build the Shaybah Central Processing Facilities (CPF) which form the core project within the Shaybah Expansion Program in Saudi Arabia. These facilities include a gas/oil separation plant, gas compression facilities and utilities.
The contract commences on a lump sum basis for the provision of services, converting to a fixed price lump sum turnkey contract later this year once the project's details are further defined.
"By awarding SNC-Lavalin this contract, Saudi Aramco has confirmed that SNC-Lavalin's strategy of supporting Saudi Aramco in Saudi Arabia, including the development of our Saudi Arabian engineering office in Al-Khobar, is aligned with Saudi Aramco's business and economic goals, and with Saudi Arabia's social development goals," said Jean Beaudoin, Executive Vice-President, SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. "This is the second major project Saudi Aramco has awarded to SNC-Lavalin within a week."
The Shaybah Expansion Program is a strategic project for Saudi Aramco, intended to boost Saudi Arabia's oil production capacity. When completed, this facility will increase the field's production capacity from 500,000 barrels of Arabian Extra Light crude oil per day to 750,000 barrels per day.
