Explosion at GlaxoSmithKline Site in Irvine, Scotland Three men are reported to have been injured in an explosion at 7 am this morning at GlaxoSmithKline's site in Shewalton Road, Irvine, Scotland.
The three injured men are believed to have suffered burns and shock in the explosion at the pharmaceutical factory. Ambulances were sent to the scene and the casualties were taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock.
A GlaxoSmithKline spokesman said the part of the factory where the explosion happened has been shut down and the incident has been contained. The rest of the factory is up and running.
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
