Two Injured on Bravo Platform in Centrica's Rough Field
The Bravo North Sea gas platform has been evacuated following a fire. Two people have been taken to hospital, one with burns and one with shock. The fire was put out by staff on board.
The Bravo gas storage rig in Centrica's Rough field, with a crew of 58, is about 20 miles (31km) off Withernsea on the East Yorkshire coast.
Twenty-five staff remain on the platform, with the remaining 31 being taken ashore by boat or helicopter.
The two injured personnel were taken to Hull Royal Infirmary for treatment. Crews from RAF Kinloss in Scotland responded to the mayday message, said Humber Coastguard, which coordinated the rescue.
Centrica said: "We are shocked and saddened about what has happened. We have a very good safety record offshore at the facility. All the people there are expert in what they do. We've just literally passed 1,000 days without any lost time incidents."
