Supply Chain Services Contract for Wood Group
Wood Group Engineering (North Sea), (WGENS), part of the Engineering and Production Facilities Division of John Wood Group, has been awarded a two-year, renewable Supply Chain Services Contract, by Karazhanbasmunai JSC (KBM), a subsidiary of Nations Energy Company Ltd, to provide a comprehensive range of supply chain management services to their exploration and production business in Aktau, Republic of Kazakhstan.
The contract, valued at approximately $US 10 million, is the first of its type for WGENS in Kazakhstan, with procurement, contracts, inventory and logistics management being the primary contract services.
"With the award of this contract, KBM has recognised our ability to strengthen their existing supply processes, improve the existing service level and quality of purchased products, and leverage greater value for them in the global marketplace from their spend on goods and services," said Barry Hamblin, Wood Group's Supply Chain Manager. "Being a performance contract with incentivised returns, it will ensure that we are continually focused on enhancing the commercial effectiveness of the KBM supply chain, whilst evolving our WGENS supply chain in Republic of Kazakhstan. A springboard for escalation of our Wood Group business activities in this fast-evolving region, we are able to offer the full range of Group company services to KBM, through this simple, flexible contract."
